One successful example in developing Asian talent in a technology organization was achieved by NBO’s founder, Gary Nelson.

Prior to setting up NBO, Gary was the Vice President and General Manager of IBM’s Asia Pacific organization, overseeing 16 countries with more than 10,000 employees. Developing local talent was Gary’s strategic priority for IBM to achieve competitive advantage.

In less than 6 years, Gary successfully led and transformed IBM Asia Pacific. He prepared and placed local Managing Directors and heads of functions in all the 16 countries. Gary accomplished this while growing both IBM’s revenue and market share across Asia Pacific.
